Ian Radford BSc(Hons) RCPod CMA HCPC

Ian has been studying and practicing podiatry for more than 11 years, having completed a Batchelor of Science Honours degree in Podiatry, for which he was awarded a First Class grade with honours. He has also completed postgraduate training and courses in soft-tissue rehabilitation for the lower limb, Foot Mobilisation Therapy, and Clinical Biomechanics. Ian also holds a second BSc(Hons) degree level qualification in Traditional Chinese Acupuncture, has completed a certificate in Medical Acupuncture with the British Medical Acupuncture Society (BMAS), and is in the process of completing a Diploma in Medical Acupuncture. Ian is also currently enrolled on an MSc in Clinical Biomechanics. He also holds licences to administer, prescribe, and supply prescription-only medicines (POM) that are within the scope of his practice, and to administer local anaesthetic.

Over the years Ian has developed a particular interest in helping people who are experiencing acute and chronic pain associated with the foot, ankle, and lower leg, as well as knee, hip and back pain associated with poor function of the lower leg, particularly using acupuncture and orthoses. After taking a medical history and carrying out a thorough lower limb assessment, Ian will offer you a range of treatment options to choose from, including medical-grade insoles, a programme of therapeutic exercises, therapeutic taping, padding and strapping, joint mobilisation, and acupuncture, as well as being able to offer supplementary lifestyle advise, such as how to choose appropriate footwear. Ian offers a patient-centred practice based on transparency, honesty and compassion, so you are free to choose which of these options you would prefer without any feelings of being pressured or unsure.

Ian runs a practice that does not use any ingredients of animal origin, products knowingly tested on animals, or products containing ingredients that are harmful to living creatures or the environment, whenever it is possible to do so. He tries to keep his practice as sustainable as possible, using bio-degradable gloves and recyclable or compostable items whenever it is possible to do so.

Ian is a full member of the Royal College of Podiatry (the largest professional body for podiatrists and chiropodists in the UK). He is also registered as a Podiatrist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and is a member of the British Medical Acupuncture Society (BMAS).

Ian is also a qualified Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner, Acupuncturist, and Herbalist. For more information about this, please click on the image and link below.
